The Seattle Times recently debuted a video detailing the painting and unveiling of Boeing’s new Star Wars-themed 787-9 Dreamliner. It’s paint job, whose time-lapsed execution is shown in the video, is designed to resemble our favorite Astromech droid. Notable is the fact that this is the first time a Star Wars character appears on the exterior of a commercial airplane. The Dreamliner’s unveiling featured much fanfare and was attended by none other than C-3PO, R2-D2 and a small group of stormtroopers.
