I’ve never been a gamer. Oh sure, I had an Atari and Nintendo in the 80’s but it ended there for me. These days, though, gaming is an industry all its own out-earning movie industry. That being said, I look at how much time my girlfriend’s twelve-year old son spends playing his video games and I still don’t see the attraction. I was a child of the 80’s playing outside with my friends, riding bikes and skateboards and, thanks to movies like Star Wars, Jaws and Indiana Jones, making my own movies. But, if I had seen this trailer as a child, I might have been tempted to explore games just for the chance of living in the Star Wars universe I knew and loved.
The author is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker who chooses to remain anonymous but owes his career to Star Wars, the movie which ignited his imagination in the halcyon days of his childhood during the late 1970s.
