Hollywood Reporter has published an article about the search currently being conducted in Hollywood which rivals Jabba the Hutt’s galaxy-wide hunt for Han Solo. Disney and Lucasfilm are currently in the casting phase for their standalone Han Solo anthology film which will depict Han Solo before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope. Some in Hollywood are calling the quest to find the young Solo…

…the widest casting search ever…

The film itself is due to begin principal photography January 2017 for a release date of May 25, 2018 so the clock is ticking. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, of The Lego Movie and 21 & 22 Jumpstreet fame, have enlisted casting director Jeanne McCarthy to head up the search and according to sources…

…more than 2,500 actors have met on the project or put themselves on tape… ‘This has been the easiest movie to audition for,’ says an agent with a client who has auditioned. ‘They are seeing everyone.’

More Star Wars news…

Some of the actors who have auditioned include:

Dave Franco, 30, Aaron Taylor Johnson,25, Miles Teller, 28, Nick Robinson, 20, Leo Howard, 18, Tony Oller, 24, Chandler Riggs, 16, Hunter Parrish, 28 and Rami Malek, 34. Apparently the age of the actors varies quite a bit but those in the know pin the sweet spot down to the mid-20s.
