Despite Rumors To The Contrary….
IGN.com’s Jim Vejvoda (whose last name sounds very Star Wars) reported that Mads Mikkelsen, who has a history playing the baddie in other filmed projects, is not playing a villain in the currently filming Star Wars: Rogue One.
The Danish actor chatted with the paper Ekstra Bladet about his role in the Gareth Edwards-directed film….”It is a very important role, as much I can say,” Mikkelsen said (via StarWars7News.com and /Film), adding, “No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months.”
This news comes days after an article appeared on Nerdist.com which speculated that Mikkelsen would be playing an Imperial Admiral named Montferrat. Despite Mikkelsen’s statement, let’s remember he didn’t admit to playing a good guy either.
Mikkelson joins Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker and others in the hotly anticipated first of the Star Wars standalone movies.
