Did Mark Hamill Really Yell “CARRIE!” During Episode IV???

Iconic Actor Sets Record Straight About His Famous Star Wars Line Flub…

Entertainment Weekly released an article today in which Mark Hamill finally addresses his infamous line flub during Star Wars: A New Hope. First, here’s the scene in question. You’ll notice that, when Luke climbs out of his fighter after returning from the Battle of Yavin, he seems to joyously shout “Carrie!” as he hugs Carrie Fisher instead calling her “Leia.”

Yesterday Mark Hamill tweeted his response to a fan’s question about the scene’s supposed mistake…

Hamill stated that he was actually saying “There she…” beginning the sentence “There she is,” with dialogue in that scene being dubbed. “Total BS,” was his response to whether he addressed his co-star by her actual name.
